General Company Casting Information

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.  We cast both Equity and non-Equity actors in our season on a show by show basis.  If you are interested in being considered for our upcoming season, headshots & resumes may be sent to:

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey
Attn: Casting
36 Madison Avenue
Madison, NJ 07940

Email submissions also accepted at casting@shakespearenj.org.

Please be sure that your resume includes your current e-mail address and phone number (and/or agent information), the names of directors with whom you have worked, as well as the theatres where you have performed.  Actors also MUST specify AEA status on your resume and in the subject line of your submission (“AEA Actor Submission” or “NON-EQUITY Actor Submission”).

Please be aware that each year there are many more submissions than we can accommodate, and the artistic staff has found it necessary to limit who we see based upon our needs each year. If we are interested in seeing your work for a particular production, we will notify you.  The Shakespeare Theatre also attends the New Jersey Theatre Alliance combined auditions, and holds annual Equity Principal Auditions both in Madison, NJ and New York – dates will be posted both on our website and the AEA website.  For early career actors, we also encourage you to explore our training opportunities, including the Apprentice Company, the Next Stage Ensemble, and Shakespeare LIVE!
