“SOME ACHIEVE GREATNESS” – Twelfth Night
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey’s acclaimed Summer Professional Training Program offers “Extreme Training” in all theatrical disciplines for early career theatre artists ages 18 and up. The 11-week multi-tier program, which draws students from all over the world, begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through mid-August each summer. It provides clear instruction, individual attention, and thoughtful and candid evaluation for students—all within a professional theatre environment.
Apprenticeships and internships are the first steps in the time-honored tradition of theatrical training. Throughout Europe and the United States, they are seen as the best way to enter into the world of professional theatre, and are considered vital supplements to one’s academic theatre studies. Training is offered in every aspect of the theatre, from acting and directing to arts administration and theatrical design. Participants learn to strive for excellence, and to relish the exuberance that comes from achieving it, within the context of an acclaimed regional theatre.
