MATTHEW E. ADELSON (Lighting Designer) is in his sixth season with The Shakespeare
Theatre. Company credits include THE TEMPEST, THE CRUCIBLE and THE MERCHANT OF
VENICE on the Main Stage; and WONDERLAND (*AND WHAT WAS FOUND THERE) and TRAVELS
WITH MY AUNT on the Other Stage. Most recently: TALLEY'S FOLLY at the Berkshire
Theatre Festival; KING LEAR, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and THE COMPLEAT WRKS OF WLLM
SHKSPR (ABRIDGED) for Shakespeare & Company; and TRAVESTIES at Burning Coal and
Spoleto Festival. Additional credits include Portland Stage, Merrimack Rep., Westport
Country Playhouse, American Music Theatre, Yale Rep., Music-Theatre Group, Hopkins
Center, Lincoln Center, Provincetown Playhouse (N.Y.C.), National Shakespeare
Company, International Festival of Arts and Ideas and the Drama League (multiple
productions), among many others. Matthew is a graduate of the Yale Drama School
and a member of the dance department faculty at New York University/Tisch School
of the Arts.
