CHARLES TOWNSEND WITTREICH, JR. (Scenic Designer) is in his fifth season with The Shakespeare Theatre. Company credits: A MIDWINTER NIGHT'S DREAM, ENRICO IV, THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, WONDERLAND (...AND WHAT WAS FOUND THERE) and THE FOREST. New York credits: ON THE VERGE, ICONS AND OUTCASTS and WHEN I WAS A GIRL I USED TO SCREAM AND SHOUT, directed by Patricia Miskoff at the John Montgomery Theatre; and BLOODY POETRY, directed by Chris Hayes at C.S.C. He has assisted Broadway designers John Ezell, Eldon Elder, Loren Sherman, Bob Crowley, John Arnone, David Gallo and Heidi Ettinger on various projects. Other regional credits: RICHARD II at The Texas Shakespeare Festival, directed by Eve Adamson, and GUYS AND DOLLS, directed by Stephen Terell. Charlie has a local connection as his Grandmother, Miss Townsend, taught dance in Chatham for over 60 years! He received his M.F.A. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Additionally, he is executive director of The Long Island Shakespeare Festival, now in its third season.
