Historic
Madison: The Rose City, Est. 1710
The
Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is located in the charming
town of Madison. Once the hub of America 's rose-growing industry,
Madison earned the nickname "The Rose City" in the mid-19th
century. During the summer months, glorious rose bushes still
bloom throughout the town.
Only 30 miles outside
of midtown Manhattan, Madison offers all the sophistication
of a New York suburb combined with the home-spun comfort of
Main Street USA. The vibrant downtown is comprised of unique
shops, tree-lined streets, art galleries and more than 40
restaurants and eateries-all within a ten-minute walk from
the Theatre's Main Stage. On-street and municipal parking
downtown is free.
The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is a proud member of
the Madison Arts and Culture Alliance. For a town of 16,000,
Madison is teeming with
arts and culture.

Drew:
"The University in the Forest"
While The Shakespeare
Theatre of New Jersey is an independent, professional theatre
company, we have been in residence on the pastoral campus
of Drew University since 1972.
While you are at
the Main Stage in Madison, take the time to explore the bucolic
grounds of "The University in the Forest." Bring a picnic
and your walking shoes, and enjoy Drew University's wooded
preserve-home to two glacially-formed ponds, hundreds of species
of plants and trees, and a variety of friendly wildlife including
fox, geese, wild turkeys, white-tailed deer and a proud resident
hawk.
Don't miss The Shakespeare
Theatre's 2006 free Picnic Series performances,
outdoors on the lush lawn of the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre.
Showtime is 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays June 24 and July 15. Seating
is first-come, first-served-arrive early for the best seats!
Call 973-408-5600 for more information.

Inclement
Weather Policy
Main
Stage:
It is our desire
to complete every performance, and we will make every effort
to “raise the curtain.” In the rare case that it becomes necessary
to cancel a show due to extreme inclement weather, the cancellation
will occur no later than two hours prior to curtain. The Box
Office staff will attempt to contact all ticketholders by
phone to announce a cancellation and to reschedule tickets
for another performance of the same production. Refunds will
not be issued for cancelled performances; however, exchange
fees and price differences will be waived.
Outdoor
Stage:
It is our desire to
complete every performance, and we will make every effort
to “raise the curtain” and finish each show despite light
rainfall. In the event of heavy rains or winds, however,
we will delay the start of the show, or the completion of
the show for up to two 15-minute intervals, in the hope that
the weather will clear. Announcements will be made informing
audience members of "holds". We may also pause to take
precautions to ensure the safety and health of the performers
and crew.
If inclement weather necessitates canceling a show prior to
curtain time, that decision will be made at least two hours
before curtain. The Box Office staff will attempt to
contact all ticketholders by phone to announce a cancellation
and reschedule tickets for another performance of the same
production. Refunds will not be issued for cancelled
performances; however, exchange fees will be waived.
If you are unable to attend another Outdoor Stage performance,
you may request a gift certificate in the amount of your order,
good towards any Main Stage production this season.
All adjustments must be made within 2 weeks of the
canceled performance. No adjustments will
be made after this time.
To find out if a show has
been cancelled,
please
call the Box Office at:
